TripWip Raises $4.2 Million in Seed Funding

TripWip, the Uruguayan-based peer-to-peer carsharing startup, has successfully raised $4.2 million in a seed funding round. Founded in 2023 by Juan Andres Vico and Juan Pancic Arigon, TripWip operates a digital marketplace that connects private car owners with renters through a fully digital platform. This recent funding round includes investments from Latin Leap, CrossBoundary, Yango Ventures, Promotora Social de MΓ©xico, Satrack Ventures, and OEMs linked to Toyota and Kia. Additionally, prominent figures from companies like dLocal, Uber, PedidosYa, and Rappi have also invested.

Expansion Plans and Use of Funds

TripWip plans to utilize the new funds to expand its operations into several new markets, including Monterrey, Los Cabos, Mendoza, and Bariloche. The company aims to enhance its marketing efforts, invest in technology and artificial intelligence, and grow its user base significantly. Within the next 24 months, TripWip intends to increase its activity sixfold while solidifying its presence in existing markets.

The company, which currently has more than 150,000 registered users and over 3,000 listed vehicles, has facilitated more than 60,000 rental days across Uruguay, Argentina, and Mexico. "We are excited about the growth opportunities this funding brings," said Juan Pancic Arigon, Co-Founder and CEO of TripWip.

Strategic Partnerships

To ensure a seamless carsharing experience, TripWip has partnered with insurance providers such as Sancor in Uruguay, Rus Seguros in Argentina, and AXA in Mexico. These partnerships provide comprehensive insurance coverage for each rental, enhancing trust and security for users on the platform.

With the fresh capital injection, TripWip is positioned to further disrupt the carsharing industry in Latin America. The company's focus on expanding into new regions and leveraging advanced technology aligns with its goal of becoming a leading player in the peer-to-peer carsharing space.
