Traysar Raises $25 Million in Seed Funding
Austin-based Traysar has successfully raised $25 million in seed funding to advance its autonomous underground systems for military strike and defense. The funding round, which took place on June 18, 2026, was led by Silent Ventures. Other participants in the round included Lux Capital, Ora Global, and prominent angel investors like Steve Blank and founders from Anduril and Erebor. Additional support came from NeverLift VC, Mana, Impatient Ventures, New Vista, and Entree Capital.
Focus on Subterranean Defense Technology
Traysar, co-founded by Yadin Soffer (CEO), Asher Katz (COO), and Gilad Adin (CSO), is focused on developing cutting-edge technology for the emerging "subterra" battlefield. The company aims to equip U.S. and allied forces with tools to detect, access, map, and secure subterranean facilities and tunnel networks. Traysar's platforms are engineered to address the challenges posed by deeply buried facilities that are difficult to detect or disable with traditional military methods.
Innovative Autonomous Systems
Traysar's technological innovations include an excavator-class autonomous system for tunnel breaching and tactical exploration, capable of navigating and clearing contested underground networks. Additionally, the company is working on a high-speed, rapid-burrowing platform designed to create precise subterranean access points and deliver critical payloads below the surface. These systems are intended to bolster both offensive and defensive military strategies.
Use of Funds
The newly acquired funds will be allocated towards further development of Traysarβs autonomous subterranean systems. The company plans to enhance its capabilities to meet the growing demand for robust underground infrastructure protection. This expansion will also involve strengthening its engineering team, which already includes talent from SpaceX and The Boring Company.
Addressing Global Security Challenges
The subterranean threat is a growing concern as adversaries increasingly utilize underground infrastructures to shield military assets and command systems. Traysar's technology aims to counter these developments by providing allied forces with the capability to secure and exploit the same underground domains. Asher Katz, Traysar's COO, noted, "The underground space is becoming a critical frontier in defense, and we are committed to pioneering technologies that ensure security and operational superiority."
With this seed funding, Traysar is positioned to play a significant role in the defense technology sector, focusing on enhancing the survivability and resilience of military infrastructure in challenging environments. As the company continues to innovate, it aims to redefine how military operations are conducted below the Earth's surface.
