Theker Raises €85 Million to Enhance AI-Powered Robotics

Theker, a Barcelona-based startup that specializes in automating industrial processes through AI and deep learning, has announced the successful closure of its Series A funding round, securing €85 million. The round was led by the U.S. investment firm CRV, with significant participation from notable investors including Samsung, LVMH, Cathay Innovation, 20VC, Henkel Ventures, Korelya, Bright Pixel Capital, Inditex, Kfund, and Kibo Ventures.

What Theker Does

Founded in 2022, Theker focuses on developing adaptable robots that utilize deep learning and computer vision to operate in dynamic and unpredictable industrial environments. These robots are designed to learn and adapt in real-time, eliminating the need for frequent reprogramming. Theker's technology is already being deployed in various sectors such as waste management, logistics, food, manufacturing, and retail.

Leadership Insight

Carla Gomez Cano, Co-founder of Theker, emphasized the company's commitment to delivering practical robotics solutions that are ready to perform from day one. "We didn’t build Theker to run pilots," she stated. "We built it to ship robots that work the day they arrive and continue improving every day after."

Strategic Use of Funds

The newly acquired funds will be directed towards accelerating the deployment of Theker's robotic solutions with industrial partners. The company plans to enhance its technology further and grow its team with a focus on software, electronics, and mechanical engineering. This expansion aims to solidify Theker’s position as a leader in the field of industrial robotics.

Growing Presence in Barcelona

Barcelona is rapidly becoming a hub for robotics startups, with Theker being one of the key players driving this trend. The city has been attracting significant investment in the robotics sector, highlighting its importance as a center for technological innovation in Europe.

Theker's recent funding round marks a significant milestone for the company as it continues to advance its mission of making intelligent and adaptable robotics solutions available for industrial applications on a global scale.
