Synthefy Inc. Raises $6.5 Million in Seed Funding
Synthefy Inc., a startup based in San Francisco, California, has announced the successful completion of a $6.5 million seed funding round. The round was led by Wing Venture Capital, with additional investments from Haystack, Samsung Next, Canonical Crypto, Lightscape, and notable angel investors from OpenAI Group PBC, Microsoft Corp., and Meta Platforms Inc.
The company, co-founded by Somi Agarwal and Raimi Shah, specializes in developing foundation models that transform structured business data into actionable predictions and decisions. Unlike traditional models that rely heavily on text-based data, Synthefy's approach focuses on numerical data, offering enhanced prediction capabilities.
Use of Funds
The newly acquired funds will be directed towards expanding Synthefy's platform, which is fine-tuned for handling numerical data. This expansion includes further development of their Structured Data Foundation Models (SDFMs), which are designed to handle complex calculations and predictions faster and more accurately than traditional machine learning models. These models are particularly useful in applications like fraud detection and dynamic pricing.
Nori: An Innovative Model
Synthefy has also introduced a new open-source model called Nori. Despite its lightweight architecture, Nori has demonstrated impressive performance, outperforming larger models such as Google's TabFM. This model is designed to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of calculations in various numerical data applications.
Looking Ahead
With this funding, Synthefy aims to continue refining its models and explore further applications of numerical data processing. The backing from prominent investors highlights the growing interest in solutions that leverage numerical data for improved business decision-making.
