SoVa Secures ¥630 Million in Series B Funding

SoVa, a company specializing in comprehensive back-office support services for entrepreneurs, has successfully raised ¥630 million in a Series B funding round. The funding was secured through a combination of third-party allotment and loans. Investors in this round include JAFCO Group, Boost Capital, Mizuho Bank, and the Japan Finance Corporation.

Company Overview

SoVa provides a unique service that combines the expertise of various specialists with technology to offer comprehensive support in areas such as accounting, labor, and registration. This service is designed to simplify and streamline the process for entrepreneurs by offering a single point of contact for all their back-office needs. The service is particularly beneficial for small businesses across Japan, with over 1,300 companies having contracted SoVa's services in the past three years.

New Offerings and Use of Funds

In addition to the funding announcement, SoVa has introduced a new "AI CFO Service." This service uses artificial intelligence to analyze a company's financial status and provide advice on cash flow, loans, and cost reduction strategies. The AI CFO Service is integrated into SoVa's existing "Marutto Plan," offering video-based financial analysis and advice at no additional cost to current clients.

The funds raised in this round will primarily be used to further develop SoVa's AI capabilities and improve the efficiency of their existing services. Additionally, SoVa plans to expand its team to support these enhancements and service expansions.

Investors and Financial Structuring

The ¥630 million funding comprises ¥210 million from third-party allotment, subscribed by existing shareholders like JAFCO Group and Boost Capital. The remaining ¥420 million was secured through loans from financial institutions, including Mizuho Bank and the Japan Finance Corporation.

SoVa's strategic approach to combining expert advice with technological solutions continues to attract significant interest and investment, positioning it as a key player in the back-office support sector.
