Sorry Sugar Raises $1 Million in Seed Funding

Gurugram-based beverage startup Sorry Sugar has successfully raised $1 million in a seed funding round, with the investment led by the Dhanuka family and Amishi London. The company, known for its sugar-free coffee products sweetened with monk fruit, aims to grow its presence across North India.

Company Overview

Founded by Kunal Verma, Deepak Pathak, and Saiyam Malik, Sorry Sugar offers a range of coffee beverages that are free from added sugar. Instead, their products are sweetened using monk fruit, which allows for a zero glycemic impact. Their lineup includes flavors such as Hazel Almond Latte, Silk Chocolate Mocha, Sea Salt Caramel, French Vanilla Cloud, and Butter Gooey Toffee. The company also offers a trial pack of five flavors for Rs 399, which can be redeemed against a full-size pack purchase.

Strategic Use of Funds

The newly secured funding will be directed towards expanding Sorry Sugar's online and offline reach throughout North India. The company plans to enhance its distribution via direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales, quick-commerce platforms, and offline retail outlets. Additionally, Sorry Sugar is preparing to diversify its offerings by venturing into the dessert category with gelatos that also feature monk fruit as a sweetener.

Expansion and Revenue Goals

Sorry Sugar has already reported impressive revenue figures, exceeding Rs 1 crore in its first month of operations. With three offline stores currently located in Gurugram and Delhi, the company is targeting an annual recurring revenue of over Rs 60 crore by the end of the financial year. Co-Founder Deepak Pathak remarked, "This initial traction and investment marks a key achievement for Sorry Sugar and is a proof of concept for our vision of making healthier choices more enjoyable, without compromising on taste."

The funding marks a significant milestone for Sorry Sugar, enabling the company to further its mission of providing healthier beverage alternatives to a growing customer base.
