Scrubsy Raises Seed Funding

Gurugram-based Scrubsy, a home-cleaning startup, has secured $3.08 million (Rs 27 crore) in seed funding. The round was led by V3 Ventures, an early-stage investment firm focused on consumer businesses.

Company Background

Scrubsy specializes in developing and manufacturing cleaning products for kitchens, bathrooms, and footwear. The company is known for its foam-based cleaners and conducts all research, formulation, and manufacturing in-house. This approach allows Scrubsy to maintain quality control and differentiate its products from competitors.

Leadership and Vision

The company was co-founded by Nitin Jain and is led by CEO Kartik Sibal. "Unlike many D2C brands moving toward contract manufacturing, we believe in keeping manufacturing in-house," Sibal stated. "It creates stronger R&D capabilities and gives us better control over quality."

Use of Funds

The newly raised funds will primarily be used to expand Scrubsy's manufacturing capabilities, supporting further growth and development. The company aims to scale its operations while maintaining its in-house production model.

Investor Perspective

Arjun Vaidya, co-founder and investment partner at V3 Ventures, commented on Scrubsy's potential: "Their performance-first positioning, combined with strong product quality and in-house manufacturing, gives them the potential to build a category-defining home-care brand." V3 Ventures is backed by Verlinvest and has a portfolio that includes several consumer-focused businesses.

Scrubsy's ability to reach meaningful scale while remaining bootstrapped has impressed investors, positioning the company as a noteworthy player in a market traditionally dominated by larger FMCG firms.
