Ryft Raises £20 Million in Series B Funding
Ryft, a Manchester-based fintech company, has successfully raised £20 million in a Series B funding round. The round was led by Gresham House Ventures, with additional investments from Pembroke VCT and Ingenii Capital. This funding marks the largest Series B round in the UK payments sector for 2026.
About Ryft
Ryft offers a unified payment processing platform that enables businesses to accept payments both online and in-person. It also provides features such as automating split payments and monetizing transactions through a single integration. Founded by CEO Sadra Hosseini, the company primarily serves marketplaces, platforms, and multi-location businesses that require complex transaction processing solutions.
Market Context
The funding comes at a challenging time for the UK fintech sector, which has seen a significant decline in investment. According to KPMG’s Pulse of Fintech report, UK fintech funding dropped to £1.8 billion in the first half of 2026, a sharp decrease from £5 billion in the same period the previous year. Despite this, Ryft has managed to secure substantial investment, buoyed by its growth in transaction volume and expanding customer base. The company's processing volume has tripled over the past year, with over 6,500 businesses utilizing its infrastructure, including Epos Now, Chaiiwala, and the Disasters Emergency Committee.
Plans for the Future
Ryft intends to use the newly acquired funds to expand its operations across Europe and the United States. The company is also looking to penetrate larger enterprise accounts and has applied for a full EU license to facilitate this growth.
Strategic Investments
The Series B funding will enable Ryft to enhance its offerings and broaden its market reach. As marketplaces, franchises, and software platforms increasingly handle transactions involving multiple parties, Ryft’s solutions are becoming more relevant. The company has already partnered with major payment institutions such as Global Payments, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Nuvei to support its services.
Ryft’s CEO Sadra Hosseini commented on the funding round, emphasizing the company’s commitment to scaling operations and improving its payment processing capabilities to meet the evolving needs of its clients.
