Rio Health Secures $4.5 Million in Pre-Series A Round
Rio Health, a Delhi-NCR-based startup, has raised $4.5 million in a Pre-Series A funding round. The round was led by Version One Ventures, with participation from Xeed Ventures, Good Capital, and Amplify. Rio Health specializes in delivering medicines, personal care, and baby-care essentials directly to consumers' doors within 15 to 30 minutes, operational daily from 8 AM to 1 AM via quick ordering on WhatsApp.
Leadership and Vision
Founded by Ankur Agrawal, Rio Health aims to address the common trade-off between the speed and availability of medicine delivery. Agrawal stated, "We are building Rio Health to solve both. This funding will help us strengthen our technology, improve how we predict neighbourhood-level demand, and make reliable medicine delivery available to many more customers across Delhi-NCR."
Strategic Use of Funds
The funds from this round will be utilized to expand Rio Health's network of dark stores and to enhance the technology underpinning its operations, including ordering, inventory management, and delivery systems. The startup processes over 30,000 orders monthly, with an average order value of Rs 600 to Rs 700, and aims to significantly boost its annual run rate over the next year.
Market Expansion
With the fresh funding, Rio Health plans to enhance its delivery infrastructure across the Delhi-NCR region, ensuring faster and more reliable service. This strategic investment is part of the company's broader goal to scale its operations and improve overall service efficiency.
