Numos Raises $4.25 Million in Seed Funding

Numos, a company focused on automating accounting and financial planning tasks through AI, has successfully raised $4.25 million in a seed funding round. This round was led by General Catalyst, with additional investment from Operator Collective. The funding, announced on April 4, 2026, is set to bolster Numos's position in the growing market for AI-driven financial solutions.

Enhancing Financial Processes with AI

Numos specializes in integrating AI agents into enterprise finance teams, automating tasks such as accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and variance analysis. By doing so, finance teams can redirect their efforts towards strategic decision-making rather than routine tasks. The platform is designed to work seamlessly with existing financial systems, providing continuous transaction analysis across various tools like accounting software, billing platforms, and spreadsheets.

Addressing CFO Concerns

As AI adoption in finance accelerates, Numos is addressing common concerns among CFOs, such as data quality, integration challenges, and transparency in AI systems. Unlike many AI platforms that operate as black boxes, Numos emphasizes transparency by revealing its sources and reasoning processes. This approach not only fosters trust but also provides a clear audit trail for every insight generated.

"AI has enormous potential in finance, but adoption will only happen if teams can understand and verify the outputs," said Parijat Sarkar, CEO and Co-Founder of Numos. "Finance teams aren’t just analyzing numbers; they’re accountable for them. Numos enables the work while keeping every step transparent and auditable."

Growing Demand and Customer Success

Numos is already witnessing increased demand from enterprise customers, including companies like Dandy and Udemy, who are leveraging its platform to significantly speed up financial planning and analysis cycles. The company reports that its customers have reduced the time required to close their books by more than half.

Founders and Leadership

Numos was founded by Parijat Sarkar and Mitul Tiwari. Sarkar, who serves as CEO, previously held a senior position at Zenefits, while CTO Tiwari has extensive experience in building large-scale AI systems from his tenure at LinkedIn and ServiceNow. The company is also supported by advisors such as Sue Taylor, former Chief Accounting Officer of Meta, and Kieran Snyder, VP of AI Transformation at Microsoft.

Strategic Use of Funds

The newly acquired funds will be directed towards accelerating product development and expanding Numos's engineering team. This investment will support the company's ongoing efforts to develop its AI-driven finance platform and meet the growing demand for trustworthy AI solutions in the finance sector.
