Nouscom Raises €120 Million in Series D Funding
Nouscom, a biotech company based in Basel, Switzerland, has successfully raised €120 million in a Series D funding round. Specializing in developing innovative cancer treatments that leverage the immune system, Nouscom aims to advance its research and clinical development efforts with this latest investment.
Key Investors and Participants
The funding round was co-led by M Ventures and Revelation Partners. Other participants included new investors such as Angelini Ventures, the European Investment Bank (EIB), and Neva SGR. Existing investors like 5AM Ventures, Andera Partners, Bpifrance, CDP Venture Capital, EQT Life Sciences, Indaco Venture Partners, Panakes Partners, Versant Ventures, and XGEN Ventures also contributed to the round.
Focus on Cancer Immunotherapy
The capital raised will primarily support the development of NOUS-209, an experimental cancer immunotherapy. This therapy is designed to utilize neoantigens to trigger the immune system's response against cancer cells. Marina Udier-Blagovic, CEO of Nouscom, highlighted the urgency of their mission: "Over two million LS carriers live with up to an 80% lifetime cancer risk and nothing to offer them but surveillance and surgery. We built Nouscom to change that equation."
Strategic Use of Funds
The funds will be allocated to advance clinical trials and further research into Nouscom's immunotherapy solutions. This investment is a significant step towards bringing innovative cancer treatments closer to patients who need them.
With this substantial financial backing, Nouscom is set to push forward with its goal of transforming cancer treatment by harnessing the body's own immune system.
