Natural Raises $30 Million in Series A Funding
Natural, a company developing a platform for seamless money movement between agents, businesses, and consumers, has successfully raised $30 million in a Series A funding round. The round, announced on July 20, 2026, was led by Forerunner, with participation from several notable investors including Kirsten Green, HUMAN CAPITAL, Abstract, Genius Ventures, Torch Capital, Restive Ventures, and SV Angel. Individual investors such as Darragh Buckley, Pablo Palafox, and Logan Paul also participated.
Innovating in the Payment Sector
Natural is working to transform the current financial infrastructure, which is primarily designed for human-initiated transactions. The company is developing a system that supports autonomous transactions, a significant shift from traditional payment systems that typically require human authorization. This innovation is particularly relevant as AI agents increasingly handle complex tasks such as vendor selection, price comparison, and logistics organization.
Kahlil Lalji, CEO and co-founder of Natural, identified a gap in the financial architecture that could not keep pace with the evolving capabilities of AI agents. "It just feels obvious that agentic payments are going to be structurally the most important problem [in the] space," Lalji said, highlighting the need for a system that can handle transactions autonomously.
Leadership and Vision
The founding team at Natural includes Kahlil Lalji as CEO, Eric Wang as CTO, and Walt Leung. Lalji and Wang previously collaborated on Ivella, a financial product for couples, before it was acquired by Earnin in 2023. Their combined experience in finance and technology positions Natural to address the challenges of integrating AI with payment systems.
Strategic Use of Funds
The newly acquired capital will be directed towards enhancing Natural's platform to better support AI-driven transactions. This includes further development of their technology to offer a robust alternative to existing systems like Stripe, which primarily cater to human-initiated payments. The funds will also likely support team expansion and product development to meet the growing demand for agentic payment solutions.
Competitive Landscape
Natural's approach puts it in direct competition with established payment processors. By focusing on AI-driven payment solutions, Natural aims to provide a system that is not only faster but also more efficient for transactions initiated by AI agents. This positions the company as a potential disruptor in a sector dominated by traditional players.
As Natural continues to develop its platform, the company is set to play a significant role in the evolution of payment systems, particularly those that integrate with AI technologies. The successful funding round underscores investor confidence in their innovative approach to modernizing financial transactions.
