Moonbounce Secures $12 Million in Latest Funding Round

Moonbounce, a company specializing in AI-driven control systems, has successfully raised $12 million in an undisclosed funding round. The round was led by Amplify Partners and StepStone Group, with participation from PrimeSet and Josh Leslie.

Founded by Brett Levenson and Ash Bhardwaj, Moonbounce aims to provide real-time, nuanced control over AI behavior, transforming safety into a competitive advantage for businesses. The company's platform translates static content policies into executable, real-time behavioral controls, enabling organizations to manage AI outputs efficiently.

Addressing the Challenges of AI Moderation

As AI technologies continue to expand across various industries, ensuring consistent and compliant outputs has become a critical challenge. Traditional moderation methods, which often involve manual oversight, are increasingly inadequate in the fast-paced AI environment. Moonbounce's solution involves converting content policies into real-time behavioral controls, allowing for immediate enforcement at the moment decisions are made.

"Most companies know what they want their AI or platform to do. The hard part is making sure it actually does it โ€“ every time, without exception," said Brett Levenson, Moonbounce's CEO. "We give teams precise control over behavior at the moment decisions are being made, so they can focus on growth instead of firefighting."

Founders and Leadership

Brett Levenson, who co-founded Moonbounce and serves as its CEO, previously led Meta's Integrity unit. Ash Bhardwaj, the company's CTO, has a background in engineering leadership roles at Apple, focusing on large-scale cloud and AI infrastructure.

Platform Deployment and Usage

Moonbounce's platform is already being utilized across a diverse range of applications, including dating platforms, AI chat applications, and generative content services like Civit.ai and Dippy. The company reports processing over 1 trillion tokens and evaluating approximately 50 million pieces of content daily for a user base exceeding 250 million monthly active users.

In addition to its core offering, Moonbounce has introduced a Playground environment. This feature allows teams to simulate and test policy logic, explore edge cases, and assess the impact of changes on AI behavior before implementing updates in a live environment.

Use of Funds

The recent funding will be directed towards further development of Moonbounce's AI control technology and expanding its deployment across more industries and applications. The company aims to strengthen its platform's capability to balance AI innovation with governance, compliance, and operational control.

Moonbounce's innovative approach to AI moderation positions it as a vital tool for organizations navigating the complexities of AI-driven decision-making. With the support of its investors, the company is set to enhance its technological offerings and broaden its market reach.
