LOMBY Raises ¥747 Million in Series A Funding

LOMBY, the company behind innovative autonomous delivery robots, has successfully raised ¥747 million in its Series A funding round. The funding was led by Mercuria Investment, with participation from investors such as Suzuki, Canal Ventures (BCF1 Investment Business Limited Partnership), Tamashin Regional Future Co-Creation Fund (Tamashin-SNETI Investment Business Limited Partnership), Nabtesco Technology Ventures L.P., and DRONE FUND. The announcement was made on September 29, 2026.

LOMBY, under the leadership of CEO Tomoharu Uchiyama, specializes in deploying autonomous robots designed to support everyday deliveries in urban environments. These robots aim to redefine last-mile delivery by integrating seamlessly into city landscapes, working alongside humans to enhance convenience and efficiency.

Strategic Plans for the Funding

The newly acquired funds will be allocated towards several strategic initiatives. LOMBY plans to bolster its production capabilities for its LM-A delivery robots and establish a robust supply chain to support mass production. The company is also focusing on expanding robot deployments across multiple locations in Japan.

On the technological front, LOMBY aims to improve the accuracy of its autonomous driving AI by utilizing extensive driving data. Additionally, the company is working on enhancing its remote monitoring operations, which will allow a single operator to manage multiple robots simultaneously. This technological advancement is expected to streamline operations and reduce costs.

Product Expansion and Future Developments

LOMBY is not only focusing on its delivery robots but is also expanding its product lineup. The company is developing the LM-T, intended for in-factory transport, and the LM-P, a personal mobility vehicle that can accommodate passengers. This expansion is part of LOMBY's broader vision to create a versatile mobility platform capable of transporting both goods and people.

Strengthening Partnerships

The company has been actively collaborating with 7-Eleven Japan, using the convenience store chain as a hub for its delivery network. This partnership has already seen LOMBY's robots in action through a pilot project for 7-Eleven's "7NOW" order delivery service, which began in May of the previous year. LOMBY plans to further strengthen this collaboration as it continues to develop its autonomous delivery network.

Overall, with the new funding and strategic plans in place, LOMBY is well-positioned to advance its technology and expand its operations, paving the way for a new era in last-mile delivery solutions.
