Lasso Security Raises $30 Million in Undisclosed Funding Round
Lasso Security, a Tel Aviv-based startup specializing in AI security, has secured $30 million in a funding round led by ClearSky Advisors. Other investors participating in the round include Entrée Capital, iAngels, Singtel Innov8 Pte. Ltd., Mindset, and Swish Data.
Lasso Security provides enterprises with a platform that offers visibility, control, and protection across AI models, agents, and applications. The platform is designed to reduce risks associated with generative AI in real time.
New Product Launch: LEAP
Coinciding with the funding announcement, Lasso Security has launched a new product named LEAP, a CPU-only AI guardrail. Unlike traditional solutions that require graphics chip support, LEAP operates using ordinary server processors. This allows enterprises to inspect AI traffic efficiently without incurring the high costs associated with accelerated hardware.
LEAP delivers results in under five milliseconds, handling thousands of times the throughput of existing guardrails, according to CEO and Co-Founder Elad Schulman. He stated, "The question of whether enterprises will put AI in front of their customers is settled, and what they now need is security that can inspect not only what agents say but what they do."
Insights from the Founders
Ophir Dror, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer, emphasized the cost-effectiveness of LEAP. "The concept of a guardian agent or agents overseeing other agents is great, unless you are the one paying the bill," Dror noted.
Lasso's platform includes a second engine, RAPID, which is self-hosted and handles decisions that require a judgment call against a policy written in plain language. This approach significantly reduces costs compared to commercial model providers.
Strategic Use of Funds
While the company did not disclose specific plans for the new funds, the investment is expected to bolster the development and deployment of its AI security solutions, potentially expanding its market reach and product offerings.
