Keewano Raises $12 Million to Advance Machine Reasoning Database

Keewano, a Tel Aviv-based startup specializing in databases built for machine reasoning, has announced a $12 million seed funding round. The investment was led by Hetz Ventures, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz LLC’s a16z Speedrun.

Innovating Database Solutions

Keewano is making strides in the database industry with KeewanoDB, a database designed to provide artificial intelligence agents with real-time context for analytics and decision-making. Unlike traditional databases that cater to structured queries, KeewanoDB focuses on managing complex sequences of events, offering a streamlined approach that eliminates the need for extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes.

Co-founder and CEO Mark Kardashov commented on the unique approach of KeewanoDB: "We’re always running on live data. We don’t have ETLs. We don’t have pipelines. We don’t have lakes." This architecture is particularly beneficial for industries like gaming, where a single user can generate extensive interaction histories.

Leadership and Vision

The company was founded by Dima Karger, who also serves as the Chief Operating Officer, and Mark Kardashov, the current CEO. Together, they identified the limitations of existing database structures while working on AI agents for the gaming sector, leading to the development of KeewanoDB.

Use of Funds

While specific plans for the new funds have not been disclosed, the financing is expected to support product development and potentially broaden the company's reach in industries that require advanced database solutions.

Looking Ahead

Keewano's innovative approach to database management positions it well in a rapidly evolving technological landscape, where the demand for efficient and real-time data processing continues to grow.
