Inovus Medical Secures $20 Million in Latest Funding Round
Inovus Medical, a UK-based company specializing in surgical simulators and a data-driven training platform called Totum, has announced the successful raising of $20 million in its latest funding round. The round was led by NPIF II โ PXN Equity Finance, with participation from PXN Ventures, Mercia, Unorthodox Ventures, and the Liverpool City Region Life Science Innovation Zone.
Company Background
Inovus Medical, founded by CEO Elliot Street, focuses on improving surgical training through simulation technologies. The company provides lifelike models made from advanced hydrogel materials and offers a software platform that allows surgeons to track their training progress and receive online feedback from mentors.
Strategic Use of Funds
The newly acquired funds will be directed towards expanding Inovus Medical's commercial presence, particularly in the United States. The company plans to enhance its offerings in the general surgery surgical skills market, building on its existing deployment in nearly 300 residency programs for OBGYN surgical skills training.
Inovus will also focus on launching new technologies related to flexible endoscopy, robotic surgery, and advanced tissues. These innovations aim to replace traditional training methods that often involve pigs or cadavers. Additionally, the company plans to introduce its portfolio to new international markets, with a focus on the Middle East and Asia.
Future Plans
Inovus Medical's recent funding highlights its commitment to transforming surgical training through innovative technology. By expanding its reach and continuing to develop new training tools, the company aims to contribute significantly to the evolution of medical education on a global scale.
