InduPro Raises $77 Million in Series B Funding
InduPro, a biotechnology company based in Seattle, Washington, has successfully raised $77 million in a Series B funding round. The financing was led by The Column Group, with participation from other investors including Vida Ventures, MRL Ventures Fund, Emerson Collective, Euclidean Capital, Solasta Ventures, Sanofi, and Eli Lilly and Company. This infusion of capital is set to propel InduPro's ongoing efforts in developing innovative treatments for oncology and autoimmune diseases.
Leadership and Vision
InduPro's Chief Executive Officer, Prakash Raman, highlighted the importance of this funding round, stating: "We are delighted to have the support of this outstanding group of life sciences investors and strategic partners." Raman emphasized the potential of InduPro’s proximity-guided platform to create precision therapeutics in oncology and autoimmune disease.
Use of Funds: Advancing Clinical Trials
The funds raised will primarily support the Phase 1 clinical development of InduPro's lead oncology candidate, IDP-001. This treatment is currently being evaluated in a first-in-human clinical trial, targeting patients with advanced or metastatic squamous or non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer and other squamous solid tumors. The study aims to assess the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary antitumor activity of IDP-001.
IDP-001 is a bispecific antibody-drug conjugate designed to target EGFR and TAPA-E1, leveraging InduPro’s platform which maps protein neighborhoods to identify target combinations that distinguish diseased cells from healthy tissue. By focusing on these targets, InduPro aims to improve tumor selectivity and antitumor efficacy.
Future Directions
Beyond supporting the clinical development of IDP-001, the funding will also aid in advancing additional programs within InduPro's preclinical pipeline. The company is applying its high-resolution proximity labeling technology across both cancer and autoimmune diseases to develop new bispecific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates, and T-cell engagers.
InduPro's innovative approach and the backing from a strong consortium of investors position the company to make significant strides in the field of precision medicine.
