HEARTBEATS Secures Series C Investment

HEARTBEATS, a startup known for offering innovative digital trading card services, has successfully raised ¥2.3 billion in a Series C funding round. This round was led by Artemis Ventures, specifically through its Artemis No. 1 Investment Business Limited Partnership. The funding also saw participation from various business corporations and venture capital firms linked to financial institutions.

Focus on Digital Trading Cards

HEARTBEATS operates the digital trading card platform ORICAL, which collaborates with sports and entertainment rights holders to offer fans a unique way to express their support. The platform provides real-time synchronized trading cards linked to live events and matches, having already partnered with 26 entities, including 10 professional baseball teams.

Use of Funds

The fresh capital will be directed towards enhancing the ORICAL platform. Key areas of focus include improving match-linked features, community functions, and leveraging AI for production and operational efficiency. The company also plans to expand its partnerships and develop new products accordingly. Additionally, funds will be allocated to the production and promotion of paper trading cards and the development of sales infrastructure for digital goods. HEARTBEATS is considering collaborations in related areas such as ticket sales and membership management.

Strategic Growth Plans

With this new investment, HEARTBEATS aims to bolster its operational structure, particularly within its engineering and corporate divisions, to further expand its fan-oriented business model centered around digital trading cards.
