GX MINERALS Secures ¥460 Million in Series A Extension

GX MINERALS has successfully raised ¥460 million in a Series A Extension round. The funding was spearheaded by Prime Partners, with participation from Tokai Tokyo Securities, Okazaki Shinkin Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, individual shareholders, and corporations. The company specializes in offering solutions that enhance the functionality of resin composites while supporting decarbonization efforts. Their core product, the DIA Filler, developed through industry-academia collaboration, helps improve material design flexibility through monomaterial designs and lightweight solutions.

Use of Funds

The newly acquired funds will be directed towards several strategic areas. GX MINERALS plans to invest in the development and evaluation of specialized grades for high-performance materials. This includes internal sample evaluations and detailed analyses. Additionally, the company aims to establish a robust quality assurance system and expand its team by recruiting new personnel. Part of the investment will also go towards acquiring and maintaining intellectual property rights both domestically and internationally.

Expansion Plans

GX MINERALS is poised to broaden its reach into high-value-added markets, particularly focusing on the mass supply of resins and high-performance materials. The company has already commenced commercial operations at its Tahara Plant in Tahara City, Aichi Prefecture, which is capable of producing approximately 10,000 tons annually. This expansion is part of their broader strategy to enhance the recyclability and performance of automotive resins and other applications.

The company's innovative approach involves using DIA Filler, a high-performance powder that enhances the rigidity and heat resistance of resins while maintaining lightweight properties. This technology is particularly advantageous for the automotive industry, where material performance and sustainability are critical.
