FlairMakers Raises £500,000 in Pre-Seed Funding

FlairMakers, a company dedicated to connecting freelancers with hospitality businesses for flexible engagements, has successfully raised £500,000 in a pre-seed funding round. The investment was led by SFC Capital and marks a significant step for the London-based startup.

Company Mission and Platform

FlairMakers aims to revolutionize the hospitality industry by offering a platform where in-person and remote freelancers can access flexible work opportunities. The platform connects these professionals directly with businesses worldwide, providing a streamlined process for short-term engagements. FlairMakers handles the logistical aspects such as training, compliance, contracts, and payments, ensuring a smooth operation for both freelancers and businesses.

Leadership and Vision

The company is led by Founder and CEO Raluca Epureanu, who brings two decades of experience in the hospitality sector, having managed operations across multiple continents. Reflecting on the industry's challenges, Epureanu stated, "Hospitality has always assumed there are two ways to work: employment or agencies. There is a third, and the industry’s best professionals are already living it."

Use of Funds

The newly secured funds will be utilized primarily for product and technology development. Additionally, FlairMakers plans to expand its network of venues within the UK. This investment will also enhance the platform’s ability to manage crucial operational aspects such as identity verification, compliance, and cross-border payments, as noted by Alexis Sikorsky, Co-founder and CTO.

Future Plans

With this funding, FlairMakers is poised to continue its growth within the UK and further establish its presence in the hospitality industry. By addressing the industry's need for flexible and scalable talent solutions, the company aims to transform how hospitality businesses engage with freelance professionals.
