Flai, a San Francisco-based AI startup, has successfully secured $27 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by Base10 Partners, with participation from First Round Capital, Toyota Ventures, Y Combinator, Friedkin Group, and Findlay Automotive. Flai specializes in deploying AI to manage customer interactions in the automotive sales and service sectors, offering solutions that handle calls, messages, and emails, akin to a dealership's most efficient employee.
Company Background
Founded in 2025 by Ari Polakof, Alen Polakof, and Juan Alzugaray, Flai is focused on enhancing the operational efficiency of car dealerships. The company's platform integrates with existing dealership management systems and CRM software to streamline appointment scheduling, send maintenance reminders, and follow up with potential customers. Currently, Flai manages over 50,000 appointments monthly and collaborates with more than 10 of the top 50 dealership groups in the United States.
Strategic Use of Funds
The newly acquired capital will be directed towards expanding Flai's customer base and enhancing sales efforts with existing clients. In addition to these growth initiatives, Flai plans to increase its workforce and establish a new office in Uruguay by November 2026. The company has experienced significant growth, with its team expanding from three to approximately 40 employees over the past year.
Investor Support
Base10 Partners spearheaded the funding round, highlighting investor confidence in Flai's innovative approach to AI in the automotive industry. This backing from a diverse group of investors underscores the potential for Flai's technology to further disrupt traditional dealership operations and improve customer engagement.
Future Prospects
With the fresh funding, Flai is well-positioned to extend its service offerings and solidify its presence in the U.S. automotive market. The expansion into Uruguay also signals the company's ambition to broaden its operational footprint and tap into new markets.
