About Fish Audio
Founded by Jiahua Liu (Co-Founder & CTO), Rissa Cao (Co-Founder & CEO), and Shijia Liao (Co-Founder & Chief Scientist), Fish Audio has rapidly gained traction since its inception. The company started as a project by Shijia Liao, a former Nvidia researcher, who was motivated to create more expressive synthetic voices. This led to the development of Fish Audio's models, which are now widely used by indie developers, video game designers, and other creators.
Fish Audio's technology caters to a broad range of applications, from creative uses that require expressive voice models to enterprise needs for automating customer support and sales operations. The startup's library includes over 15,000 natural language controls, making their technology versatile for various industries.
Strategic Use of Funds
With the new funding, Fish Audio plans to continue building on its existing platform. The company has already launched five models, including four speech-generation models and one speech-to-text model. Three of these models are open-source, while the latest S2.1 Pro model is available through a paid API.
The funds will likely be used to enhance product development and potentially expand the company's offerings. Fish Audio provides both monthly subscription plans for creators and teams and an enterprise version of its APIs, which is already being utilized by organizations like HeyGen and Sanas.
Future Outlook
As Fish Audio continues to expand its capabilities, the demand for AI-generated voice models in various sectors is expected to grow. The company's focus on creating expressive and steerable voice models positions it well to meet the diverse needs of both creators and enterprises.
Rissa Cao, the CEO of Fish Audio, highlighted the company's mission: "Every enterprise has different use cases and different preferences." This adaptability is likely to be a critical aspect of Fish Audio's strategy moving forward, as it seeks to solidify its place in the competitive AI voice technology market.
