First Coffee Raises $1.3 Million in Pre-Series A Funding
First Coffee, an Indian company known for its specialty coffee offerings, has successfully raised $1.3 million in a pre-Series A funding round. The round was led by DG Daiwa Ventures (DGDV), with participation from BEENEXT, Sanjay Kapoor, and Shashank Bhagat. Co-founded by Sohrab Sitaram, who serves as CEO, and Shiv Dhawan, First Coffee focuses on providing high-quality Arabica beans through its range of single-origin coffee products.
Funding Details
The funding round took place on August 22, 2026, and aims to support the company's growth and expansion strategies. With this new capital, the company plans to increase its store network and reach new markets.
Strategic Expansion Plans
First Coffee intends to use the funds to expand its presence beyond major cities and into Tier-2 cities across India. The company has already established 25 stores in regions such as Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana. The new investment will also be allocated towards strengthening the corporate team, enhancing marketing efforts, and developing new product offerings.
A Focused Approach to Specialty Coffee
First Coffee has carved out a niche in the Indian coffee market by emphasizing convenience and design in its grab-and-go retail formats. The company sources its coffee beans from Harley Estate in Chikmagalur, Karnataka, focusing on sustainable farming practices. This approach resonates particularly well with younger consumers, including Gen Z, who favor cold coffee-based drinks and matcha options.
Leadership Insight
"Our goal is to make high-quality specialty coffee accessible to more people across India," said Sohrab Sitaram, Co-Founder and CEO of First Coffee. "This funding will help us to accelerate our plans and reach new customers."
