Finches Raises €2 Million to Enhance Agricultural Supply Chain Management

Bavaria-based Finches, an agritech startup focused on identifying agricultural supply risks, has secured €2 million in a pre-seed funding round. The funding was led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), with participation from Vanagon Ventures, Bayern Kapital, and UnternehmerTUM Funding for Innovators.

Addressing Agricultural Supply Risks

Finches offers a platform that monitors farms, regions, and crops, providing alerts on which areas need immediate attention. This helps companies that depend on agricultural raw materials to anticipate supply disruptions and make timely procurement decisions.

Stefanie Glenn, Co-Founder and CTO of Finches, emphasized the importance of early risk detection: "Sourcing raw materials has become a core issue of supply security. While risk signals usually emerge weeks ahead of time, procurement teams rarely see them in time to act."

Strategic Use of Funds

The newly acquired funds aim to expand the reach of Finches' platform to more companies. The platform is designed to enable businesses to align backup suppliers, purchase earlier, or adjust production schedules to mitigate the impact of supply chain disruptions.

Investor Participation

High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) led the funding round, with Vanagon Ventures as a co-lead investor. Additional support came from Bayern Kapital and UnternehmerTUM Funding for Innovators, highlighting a strong interest from both existing and new investors in Finches' mission to improve supply chain resilience.

Location

Finches is based in Bavaria, Germany, and is well-positioned to address the growing risks in agricultural supply chains, particularly those exacerbated by climate change.
