Emilia AI Raises $1.5 Million in Pre-Seed Funding

Emilia AI, a San Francisco-based startup, has raised $1.5 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Prosus. Founded by Andrés Cajiao and Sebastian Rojo Suarez, the company leverages artificial intelligence to monitor restaurant operations through existing security cameras. Their platform integrates video surveillance and point-of-sale data to detect sales opportunities, fraud, and operational inefficiencies in real-time.

Use of Funds

The newly acquired capital will be directed towards further development of Emilia AI's platform and expansion into the Brazilian market, which is currently their primary focus. The company also plans to extend its services to other Latin American countries.

Successful Pilots in Brazil

Emilia AI has already conducted successful pilot programs in Brazil with restaurant chains Alife Nino and Jin Jin. Alife Nino, which operates over 100 restaurants, reported an increase of approximately $300 in additional monthly revenue per table at a cost of $10 per table. Jin Jin is also expanding the platform to more than 77 locations.

Founders' Vision

Andrés Cajiao, Co-Founder and CEO, and Sebastian Rojo Suarez, Co-Founder and CTO, are leading the charge to revolutionize restaurant operations with their innovative AI solutions. Their aim is to provide actionable insights that can significantly improve efficiency and profitability for restaurant operators.
