Egide Secures €8 Million Seed Funding
Egide, a Paris-based defense technology startup, has successfully raised €8 million in a seed funding round. The funding aims to accelerate the development of next-generation, cost-efficient defense systems designed to counter the increasing threat of low-cost drones and strike munitions.

The seed round was co-led by Expeditions, Eurazeo, and Heartcore Capital. Additional participation came from Galion.exe and Kima Ventures, demonstrating strong investor confidence in Egide's innovative approach to defense technology.
Founded in 2025 by former MBDA engineers Simon Calonne and Florian Audigier, the company is focused on creating scalable and adaptable defense capabilities. Calonne, who serves as CEO, remarked, "Low-cost drones are fundamentally transforming modern warfare. At Egide, we are building scalable and affordable defense capabilities to meet this challenge."
Strategic Focus and Technology
Egide is developing electrically propelled interceptors and a hardware-agnostic software platform called Mystique. This platform integrates distributed sensors, AI-driven detection, and layered interception systems to provide adaptable defense capabilities across air, ground, and maritime environments. The company's approach addresses a key challenge faced by traditional defense systems, which often struggle against large volumes of low-cost, rapidly evolving aerial systems.
Use of Funds
The newly acquired capital will be used to accelerate product development and expand Egide’s engineering team across Europe. The company is actively recruiting talent in electric propulsion, aerodynamics, warhead design, and software engineering. These efforts aim to support the mission of building an integrated and affordable defense architecture.
