Dialybrid Raises €15 Million in Series A Funding

Dialybrid, an Italian medical device company specializing in innovative solutions for hemodialysis, has successfully raised €15 million in a Series A funding round. The funding was led by XGEN Venture, with additional investment from CDP Venture Capital.

Focus on Silkothane® Technology

Dialybrid is focused on developing the Silkothane® Arteriovenous Graft, a novel hybrid material that combines silk fibroin and polyurethane. This technology aims to provide a durable and easy-to-use vascular access for patients undergoing hemodialysis, particularly those with end-stage kidney disease.

Clinical Developments

The company has recently achieved a milestone with the first successful human implant of the Silkothane® Graft in a pilot clinical trial in Italy. The trial is being led by Professor Matteo Tozzi, MD, Director of the Vascular Surgery Department at ASST Sette Laghi and a Professor of Vascular Surgery at Insubria University.

Use of Funds

The newly acquired funds will be directed towards the clinical development of Dialybrid’s Silkothane® Arteriovenous Graft. Additionally, the company plans to explore other vascular applications for the Silkothane® material.
