Deutsche Sanierungsberatung Secures €10 Million in Series A Funding

Deutsche Sanierungsberatung (dsb), a Berlin-based ClimateTech startup specializing in energy-efficient home renovations, has successfully raised €10 million in a Series A funding round. The funding was led by Simon Capital and VERBUND X Ventures, with additional participation from IBB Ventures, Vireo Ventures, and Atlantic Food Labs.

Company Mission and Services

Deutsche Sanierungsberatung, co-founded by Adam Khenissi and Niclas Kern, aims to streamline the process of energy-efficient renovations for homeowners. The company provides expert advice on energy renovation plans, subsidy services, and energy consulting, helping property owners make optimal use of KfW and BAFA funding.

Strategic Use of Funds

With the newly acquired funds, dsb plans to broaden its service offerings and enter the B2B market. The firm also intends to introduce its own electricity tariff, which aligns with its mission to enhance energy efficiency in existing buildings across Germany. The investment will further support the company's growth and expansion efforts.

Addressing Market Challenges

Nico Heinz, Principal at Simon Capital, highlighted the significance of dsb’s approach, stating, "dsb solves a big, very concrete problem: millions of property owners don’t know when or how to renovate, while the trades sector is chronically overloaded and inefficient at customer acquisition." He emphasized that dsb's standardized, technology-driven process improves productivity for both homeowners and the trades sector.

Looking Ahead

The Series A funding marks a significant milestone for dsb as it continues to expand its footprint in the energy renovation sector. With over 10,000 home renovations already supported, the company is poised to further contribute to Germany's energy transition goals by optimizing renovation processes for homeowners.
