Deep Cogito Raises $43 Million in Series A Funding
Deep Cogito, a San Francisco-based startup focused on developing general superintelligence, has successfully raised $43 million in a Series A funding round. The funding was led by TQ Ventures, with participation from Benchmark, Nexus Venture Partners, Atreides Management, South Park Commons, and Zscaler Inc.
The company, founded by former Google employees Drishan Arora and Dhruv Malrana, is pioneering efforts to create AI models capable of autonomously improving their own capabilities. Deep Cogito has already made strides in this area with the development of Cogito, a series of open-source large language models. The latest version, Cogito v2.1 671B, was launched last November, showcasing enhanced efficiency and output quality.
Funding Utilization
Deep Cogito plans to utilize the new capital to further develop its AI models, specifically focusing on enhancing the self-improvement capabilities of their technology. The company employs a unique internally developed technique called IDA, which dynamically increases infrastructure resources to boost model output quality. Furthermore, they apply reinforcement learning with process supervision, allowing for more granular feedback and refinement of their models.
Leadership Team
Drishan Arora, Co-Founder and CEO, plays a pivotal role in driving the company's vision forward. "Our goal is to advance AI to a level where it can independently refine and enhance its own functions," Arora stated. Dhruv Malrana, Co-Founder, also contributes significantly to the company's strategic development and technical innovation.
With this latest funding round, Deep Cogito is well-positioned to continue its research and development efforts, potentially setting new benchmarks in the AI industry.
