CureMeAbroad Raises $1.1 Million in Pre-Seed Funding

Pune-based startup CureMeAbroad has successfully raised $1.1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by SteerX Ventures, with participation from existing investor AIRA. Founded by Aditya Oza and Mikhail Bohra, CureMeAbroad offers a platform for patients seeking affordable medical treatment abroad, allowing them to find and compare hospitals, doctors, and medical destinations for various procedures such as plastic surgery, hair transplants, and dental care.

Company Vision

CureMeAbroad aims to make world-class medical treatment accessible at reduced costs, with potential savings of up to 70% on medical procedures. The platform facilitates the entire process, from healthcare provider accreditation checks to treatment estimates and bookings, while offering support throughout the patient's treatment journey.

Strategic Expansion Plans

The newly acquired funds will be allocated towards expanding CureMeAbroad’s network of accredited hospitals and entering new patient source markets. Additionally, the company plans to enhance its AI-powered technology and build its operations and technology teams. Another key area of focus is to broaden its treatment offerings to include non-elective specialties such as orthopedics and oncology.

Future Developments

CureMeAbroad is also considering the establishment of physical experience centers in key international markets to better serve its growing clientele. The company currently boasts a hospital network across six countries and attracts over 22,500 monthly visitors.

Co-Founder and CEO Aditya Oza stated, "Our goal is to revolutionize the way patients access and receive medical care by leveraging technology and strategic partnerships."

Conclusion

This funding round marks a significant step forward for CureMeAbroad as it continues to expand its reach and enhance its service offerings in the rapidly growing medical tourism industry.
