Comp AI Raises $34 Million in Series A Funding

Comp AI, a Miami-based startup specializing in compliance automation, has announced the completion of a $34 million Series A funding round. The round was co-led by Roo Capital and Grand Ventures. Comp AI provides tools to automate compliance processes for standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and GDPR, offering over 580 integrations and serving more than 1,000 companies with audit-ready solutions within days.

Company Overview

Founded by Lewis Carhart, Claudio Fuentes, and Mariano Fuentes, Comp AI aims to make compliance processes more efficient and effective. Its software reads a company's systems and documents to draft policies and risk registers, thereby streamlining the preparation for security audits. "The first generation of compliance software proved this process could be automated," said Lewis Carhart. "Security software shouldn’t just track the work. It should understand the business, perform the work, and act as risk changes."

Use of Funds

The newly acquired funds will be directed towards enhancing the platform's capabilities beyond audit readiness, venturing further into cybersecurity. The company plans to implement real-time monitoring and control validation, and its agents will run security tests against customer applications and infrastructure. This expansion aims to provide continuous monitoring and security assessments beyond the initial audit phase.

Future Plans

Comp AI is moving towards a future where compliance and security are continuously monitored and updated. "Compliance has historically been an approximation of security," said Claudio Fuentes, COO. "AI agents remove that limit, and that attacks are getting faster as AI spreads." The company’s innovative approach positions it as a competitor to established names like Vanta Inc. and Drata Inc.

As Comp AI continues to grow, it remains focused on providing comprehensive compliance solutions while expanding its reach into the cybersecurity domain.
