Cloaked Raises $375 Million to Extend Privacy Solutions to Enterprises
Cloaked, a company dedicated to keeping personal data private, has successfully raised $375 million in a Series B funding round. This round was led by General Catalyst, with participation from investors including Liberty City Ventures, Lux Capital, Human Capital, Marquee Ventures, Fifth Growth Fund, NFL Players Association, LG Technology Ventures, Assurant Ventures, and DuckDuckGo.
Expansion into Enterprise Market
Founded in 2020 by brothers Arjun and Abhijay Bhatnagar, Cloaked initially focused on consumer privacy by offering a suite of tools that allow users to create multiple identities with different emails, phone numbers, and passwords. This helps users log into services without revealing actual personal data. Over time, Cloaked has expanded its offerings to include data removal, identity theft insurance, VPN services, and dark web monitoring.
With the new funding, Cloaked aims to broaden its reach from consumer-focused solutions to the enterprise market. "We've seen AI get better than humans at compromising individuals," said Arjun Bhatnagar, Co-Founder and CEO. "We see this as a problem of personal safety, family safety, and financial fraud."
Use of Funds
The infusion of capital will be used to enhance Cloaked's existing consumer offerings and to transition into enterprise solutions. Specifically, the company plans to expand its AI-powered screening capabilities to include text messages, email, and web browsing. Additionally, Cloaked is testing an AI agent that can autonomously perform actions such as changing compromised passwords, all while ensuring that sensitive information remains off the cloud.
Looking Ahead
Cloaked's move into the enterprise space reflects a growing need for comprehensive privacy solutions in an era where digital threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated. By leveraging AI technology, the company aims to provide effective protection against scam, spam, and phishing attempts, offering a holistic approach to data privacy.
As Cloaked continues to evolve, the company will focus on addressing the challenges posed by AI-driven security threats, ensuring that both consumers and enterprises can safeguard what matters most.
