CiaoDott Raises €1.5 Million in Pre-Seed Funding
CiaoDott, a startup specializing in AI-driven voice assistance for medical practices, has successfully raised €1.5 million in a pre-seed funding round. The funding round was led by The Techshop, with additional participation from Vento, Club degli Investitori, Growth Engine, and Alpha Venture. The company, founded in 2025, aims to transform how Italian healthcare facilities handle phone communications by automating calls, appointment bookings, and frequently asked questions.
Addressing Communication Inefficiencies in Healthcare
In Italy, a significant portion of medical appointments—over 70%—are still scheduled via phone calls. However, approximately one-third of these calls go unanswered, highlighting a crucial gap in patient communication. CiaoDott addresses this inefficiency by automating up to 70% of calls, allowing healthcare providers to focus more on direct patient care. The company's AI voice assistant operates 24/7, providing consistent and timely responses to patient inquiries.
Leadership and Vision
Riccardo Morotti, CEO and Co-founder of CiaoDott, is at the helm of the company. Under his leadership, CiaoDott seeks to streamline communication processes in a sector where healthcare accounts for 9.4% of Italy's GDP and involves over 123,000 medical facilities.
Strategic Use of Funds
The €1.5 million secured in this funding round will be directed towards enhancing CiaoDott's AI capabilities and expanding its reach within Italy's healthcare market. The company plans to deepen its collaborations with existing partners such as Politerapico Monza, Benacus Lab, and Centro Medico Manara, as well as to onboard new clients.
Future Outlook
With the fresh influx of capital, CiaoDott is well-positioned to make significant inroads into the Italian healthcare sector. By automating routine communication tasks, the company aims to alleviate the administrative burdens faced by medical staff, ultimately improving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare delivery in Italy.
