BoomerangHR Raises $12.7 Million in Seed Funding
BoomerangHR, a platform that helps businesses rehire former employees by automating alumni management, has successfully closed a $12.7 million seed funding round. The company is based in New York, United States.
Investors and Leadership
The seed round was led by Kalos Ventures and Album Ventures, with additional participation from Monta Vista Capital, Capital Eleven, and Strada Education Foundation. The leadership team at BoomerangHR includes Jeff Wald as Founder and CEO, Andrei Tulai as Co-founder and VP of Engineering, Kanish Raajkumar as Co-Founder and CTO, and Mallory Meiser as Co-Founder and COO.
"A company’s relationship with great talent shouldn't end when they leave," said Jeff Wald, the CEO of BoomerangHR. "We built BoomerangHR to automate offboarding and transform former team members into an active growth network."
Platform and Market Need
BoomerangHR connects to a company's Human Capital Management (HCM) and Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to facilitate the rehiring of former employees and manage alumni networks. As the labor market becomes more competitive, companies are increasingly looking to rehire former employees, who are already familiar with the company culture and operations, to reduce hiring and onboarding costs.
Strategic Use of Funds
While specific plans for the newly raised capital were not disclosed, it is expected that the funds will be used to enhance the platform's capabilities, expand the team, and possibly increase market penetration.
Industry Context
The funding comes at a time when verifying candidate quality has become a significant challenge for hiring teams. According to Gartner, by 2028, one in four candidate profiles may be fake. This makes the hiring of former employees—who are already vetted and familiar with the organization—a valuable strategy.
With the backing from prominent investors and a robust leadership team, BoomerangHR is well-positioned to address these challenges and offer effective solutions for talent management.
