Blue Voice Raises $6 Million in Seed Funding

Blue Voice, an AI platform designed to provide law enforcement officers with access to accurate legal, policy, and community resources, announced it has raised $6 million in a seed funding round. The funding was led by SignalFire and Las Olas VC.

Founders and Leadership

The Boston-based startup was co-founded by Amit Patankar, a former Google engineer with an MBA from Harvard, and David Lawrence, the company's CEO. Lawrence, who was previously a Harvard Law student, decided to leave the program to address the challenges faced by police officers in accessing real-time policy guidance. Michael Gropman, a retired Boston police deputy chief, also played a significant role in launching the company.

"When an officer makes a decision, they do so from memory or best guess, based on thousands of pages of law, policy, municipal ordinances, and state laws that they’ve internalized," said David Lawrence.

Use of Funds

The newly acquired funds will be utilized to further develop and expand the platform's capabilities. Blue Voice aims to enhance its AI-driven tools to ensure officers have immediate access to the most up-to-date protocols and guidelines specific to their department, local ordinances, and state laws.

About Blue Voice

Blue Voice's platform is currently utilized by officers at 225 county agencies across 25 states, helping them ensure their actions align with department protocols. The tool is likened to 'Harvey', an AI widely used by lawyers, providing officers with a specialized resource that general-purpose AI tools cannot match.

By offering a solution that addresses the unique needs of law enforcement, Blue Voice aims to reduce errors and improve decision-making processes in the field.
