BloomX Secures $13 Million in Series A Funding to Expand AI-Driven Pollination Technology

BloomX Secures Series A Funding

BloomX, an Israeli company specializing in AI and robotics-based pollination technology, has announced a successful Series A funding round, raising $13 million. The round was led by Elah Fund, with contributions from a diverse group of investors, including Rothschild Fund, Sadot Innovation, Tene Fund, OurCrowd, BioBee, and several others.

Company Background

Founded by Thai Sade, who serves as CEO, and Avi Keren, the CTO, BloomX has developed innovative biomimetic pollination systems. These systems use robotics and AI algorithms to enhance the pollination process, offering a managed and measurable agricultural input. The company's technology is designed to complement natural pollinators, thereby improving yield and fruit quality.

Strategic Expansion Plans

The new capital will aid BloomX in expanding its presence in core markets such as Peru, Mexico, South Africa, and Israel. Additionally, the company plans to enter new markets, including the United States and other Latin American countries, and to explore new crop categories. Currently, BloomX offers two commercial systems: Robee, which mimics bumblebee pollination for blueberries, and Yahav 2400, designed for avocado orchards.

Innovative Pollination Solutions

BloomX provides its technology through a Pollination-as-a-Service model, which minimizes the need for large upfront investments by growers. The systems have shown significant results, with growers experiencing up to a 20% increase in yield and notable improvements in fruit size and quality. The company's solutions are especially beneficial in extreme weather conditions where natural pollinators are less effective.

Market Impact and Future Prospects

With the new funding, BloomX aims to enhance its technological offerings and explore additional crops, including almonds and blueberries in the U.S. The company's technology has already been adopted by major agricultural players such as ACP and Fruitist in Peru and Allesbeste in South Africa.

BloomX's headquarters are located at 31 HaPardes Rd, Rishpon, Center District, Israel, 4691500.
