Blackswan Space Raises €2.5 Million in Latest Funding Round
Blackswan Space, a Vilnius-based company specializing in autonomous navigation systems for spacecraft, has successfully raised €2.5 million in an undisclosed funding round. This investment was led by Iron Wolf Capital, with participation from Lemonade Stand, Linas Sargautis, NGL Ventures, and Tomas Žalandauskas. Founded by Marius Klimavičius, the company focuses on enabling the next step in in-orbit capabilities for satellite integrators and operators.
Investment Focus
The fresh capital injection will be directed towards accelerating the commercialization of Blackswan Space's Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) Kit. This technology is designed to facilitate autonomous spacecraft navigation and operations around other space objects, reducing the reliance on ground-based control systems.
Upcoming Plans and Expansion
Blackswan Space aims to prepare its RPO technology for in-orbit testing by 2027, with intentions to extend its market reach within the United States. The RPO Kit is also set to be utilized by Orbit Fab, a US-based company, for a planned 2028 mission that will demonstrate in-space refueling capabilities in Europe.
Leadership Perspective
Marius Klimavičius, the Founder and CEO of Blackswan Space, has expressed confidence in the company's trajectory, stating: "This funding will propel us forward in our mission to enhance autonomous space operations."
With this strategic funding, Blackswan Space is well-positioned to advance its technology and expand its operations, marking a significant step forward in autonomous satellite technology.
