Baskit Raises $4.4 Million in Series A Funding

Baskit, a company that provides comprehensive solutions for business operations including sales, inventory management, and logistics, has successfully raised $4.4 million in a Series A funding round. This round was led by Cento Ventures, with additional participation from Analog Ventures and Orvel Ventures.

Expansion Plans in Southeast Asia

Baskit, based in Indonesia, is focused on digitizing offline distribution networks throughout Southeast Asia. With this latest injection of funds, the company aims to broaden its reach within Indonesia and initiate its entry into the Philippines, marking its first expansion beyond its home market.

The company operates in a region where offline trade channels still dominate, accounting for over 90% of transactions despite the rise of e-commerce. Baskit's platform offers tools to enhance distribution network management, providing visibility into inventory and performance and facilitating coordination among distributors, wholesalers, and retailers. Since its launch, the company has partnered with more than 60 brands and works with hundreds of distributors and wholesalers.

Leadership Team

Baskit was co-founded by Abhishek Pansari, who serves as the COO, Yann Schuermans, the CEO, and Yoonjung Yi, the Chief Business Officer. Together, they have been instrumental in steering the company's growth and expansion efforts.

Financial Services Integration

A significant aspect of Baskit's business model is the integration of financial services into its platform. The company offers embedded credit and payment solutions, which assist distributors in financing inventory and managing liquidity more effectively. This is achieved in collaboration with financial institutions such as HSBC.

Use of Funds

The newly raised capital will primarily support Baskit’s geographical expansion. Specifically, it will facilitate the company's entry into the Philippines, allowing Baskit to tap into new markets and extend its service offerings to a broader audience.

Baskit's strategic use of this funding aims to strengthen its position as a leading player in the supply chain and logistics sector in Southeast Asia, leveraging the region's growing demand for digital solutions in offline trade.
