Autonomy Raises $8 Million in Series A Funding

Autonomy, an Argentine company providing a unique rent-to-own automobile model for mobility app drivers, has successfully secured $8 million in a Series A funding round. This round was led by Magna Capital, with participation from Comafi, Natan VC, and Murchison Ventures.

Company Overview

Founded by Jose Trusso, who also serves as the CEO, Autonomy offers drivers a chance to lease brand-new vehicles, enabling them to start generating income immediately. The company's model is particularly beneficial for drivers who have limited access to traditional auto loans, as it combines vehicle costs, insurance, maintenance, and permits into a single monthly payment. Autonomy assesses applicants based on their activity on mobility platforms.

Strategic Use of Funds

The newly acquired funds will be directed towards expanding Autonomy's vehicle fleet, enhancing its technology infrastructure, and entering new markets within Argentina and the Southern Cone region. Since its launch in 2023 with just 10 vehicles, the company has grown its fleet to over 1,500 cars. With this funding, Autonomy aims to increase its fleet to 10,000 vehicles by December 2027.

Current Operations and Future Plans

Autonomy currently receives around 3,000 applications each month but is only able to serve about half of this demand. The expansion of its fleet is expected to help meet the increasing demand and improve service availability for more drivers.

This funding round marks a significant milestone for Autonomy as it continues to grow and adapt to the evolving needs of drivers across Latin America.

As Jose Trusso noted, "This investment will allow us to expand our offerings and reach more drivers who can benefit from our services."
