Amyl Therapeutics, a biotechnology company based in Liège, Belgium, has announced the successful completion of a €8.25 million Series A extension. Amyl Therapeutics is focused on developing a technology platform aimed at treating diseases associated with amyloid fibrils, which are linked to several neurodegenerative conditions.

Investors and Funding Details

The Series A extension was supported by existing investors Noshaq and Merieux Equity Partners. This round also saw participation from new private investors, including family offices and business angels who have chosen to remain undisclosed.

Use of Funds

The funds raised will be directed towards finalizing the development of Amyl Therapeutics' clinical candidate, preparing it for Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) manufacturing. Additionally, the company plans to generate the necessary preclinical in vivo efficacy and safety data to validate its platform. This funding will also support the expansion of Amyl's laboratory facilities at the LegiaPark life sciences campus in Liège, as well as doubling its research and development team.
