Amity Robotics, a company based in Thailand specializing in physical AI and robotics, has successfully raised $7 million in a seed funding round. The round, which combines both equity and debt financing, was led by East Ventures. Other participants in the round include 500 Global and AlteriQ Global.
Expanding AI Concierge Robots Across Asia
The newly secured funds will primarily be used to expand Amity Robotics' AI concierge services across Asia. The company is known for its innovative solutions like the ARC Base, a static AI kiosk, and the soon-to-launch ARC Move, a mobile robot designed to assist and guide customers in stores and large properties.
Currently, the ARC Base is operational in over 30 properties in regions including Singapore, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The company also plans to make its first European deployment later this month.
Key Clients and Market Presence
Amity Robotics has already garnered a range of key clients, including mall operators such as Pavilion KL, Siam Piwat, The Mall Group, and Pacific Place Jakarta. Hotels operated by major chains like IHG, Accor, and Shangri-La also feature their AI concierge solutions.
Strategic Vision and Market Potential
Although specific executives and founders were not disclosed, a statement from the company emphasized the ambition to build a world-class physical AI company from Thailand and Southeast Asia. "The funding round is a strong endorsement of that ambition and of a future where AI steps into the physical world to serve people directly," said Korawad Chearavanont, Chairman of Amity Robotics.
Investor Perspective
Willson Cuaca, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at East Ventures, expressed confidence in Amity Robotics' capabilities. "Amity Robotics has already proven exceptional execution capabilities, capturing immediate commercial viability through ARC Base deployments," he remarked.
Conclusion
With this new influx of capital, Amity Robotics is well-positioned to further its reach and impact in the AI and robotics sectors across Asia and beyond. The funding will enable the company to extend its technological innovations and improve customer experiences in various commercial and hospitality environments.
