Alive App Raises $1 Million in Seed Funding
Bengaluru-based Alive App, an experience-tech startup, has successfully secured $1 million in a seed funding round. The round was led by Powerhouse Ventures, with participation from Flipkart Ventures. Alive App focuses on helping users discover a variety of curated activities, ranging from adventure and wellness to art and culture.
Expansion Plans and Use of Funds
The fresh capital injection is set to bolster Alive App's product and technology capabilities. The company aims to expand its offerings and increase the availability of leisure experiences across Indian cities. Specifically, the funds will be used to enhance the technology behind the platform and to accelerate the creation and distribution of new experiences.
Alive App operates in major cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, and Goa. The startup collaborates with over 400 creators and partners to offer more than 500 curated experiences. The company is also targeting a threefold increase in revenue over the next few months while aiming to boost user retention.
Market Presence and Growth
Founded by Vivek Kumar, Alive App has been expanding rapidly. Over the past six months, it has extended its reach to Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi, in addition to its presence in Goa. The startup has reported its first profitable quarter in Bengaluru, its largest market, although specific revenue and profit figures have not been disclosed.
The platform's growth highlights a rising trend where experiences are becoming a popular upgrade to weekend plans in urban areas. Cities like Mumbai and Chennai are reportedly growing faster in adoption compared to Bengaluru during its initial phase.
Alive App's innovative approach involves working directly with creators to conceptualize and launch unique experiences, rather than merely aggregating existing listings. This strategy has positioned the company to tap into the growing demand for leisure and lifestyle activities across India.
