Act Security Raises $60 Million in Combined Seed and Series A Funding

Act Security, a cloud security startup founded by Itay Kirshenbaum and Jonathan Langer, has successfully raised $60 million in a combined Seed and Series A funding round. The investment aims to bolster its efforts in addressing security challenges presented by the rapid deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) systems at scale.

Leading Investors and Participants

The funding round was spearheaded by Notable Capital, Team8, and Bessemer Venture Partners. Additional support came from investors such as Caltech, Hetz Ventures, Startpoint Capital, and SVCI. These funds will assist Act Security in enhancing its platform designed to manage and secure AI-driven environments.

Addressing AI-Induced Security Risks

Act Security is introducing an "action-centric" security platform to combat what it terms the "agentic access sprawl" in cloud infrastructures. As AI systems become increasingly embedded in enterprise operations, traditional security models struggle to keep pace with the speed and complexity of AI processes. The company highlighted that many AI agents inherit outdated human permissions, which can lead to vulnerabilities being exploited rapidly by cyber attackers using advanced AI tools.

"Our platform is designed to proactively address these risks by focusing on action-based security measures," said Itay Kirshenbaum, CTO and Co-Founder of Act Security.

Strategic Use of Funds

The newly acquired funds will be allocated towards further developing the company's security platform, which targets risks at the infrastructure layer. The focus will be on enhancing the platform's ability to secure AI applications and manage permissions more effectively to prevent unauthorized access.

Founders' Vision

Jonathan Langer, CEO and Co-Founder, emphasized the importance of evolving security measures to keep up with technological advancements. "As AI becomes more integrated into business operations, the need for robust security solutions is more critical than ever," he stated.

Act Security is positioning itself as a pivotal player in the AI security landscape, offering solutions that are increasingly necessary as organizations continue to adopt AI technologies at scale. The company's innovative approach aims to mitigate risks and secure AI-driven environments efficiently.

With this funding, Act Security is set to expand its operations and further develop its technology to meet the growing demand for advanced security solutions in the AI domain.
