VARM Raises €17.5 Million for Expansion

VARM, a Berlin-based startup, has successfully raised €17.5 million in a Series A funding round. The round was led by the ABN AMRO Sustainable Impact Fund, with participation from GET Fund, Aurum Impact, Emerge Partners, Pale Blue Dot, Emerge VC, and noa. Co-founded by Christian Gruener and Sebastian Wuerz, VARM specializes in providing home insulation solutions that can help homeowners reduce heating costs by up to 50%.

Company Vision and Expansion Plans

Founded in 2023, VARM focuses on training and deploying insulation specialists to improve energy efficiency in homes. The company's services help homeowners not only save on heating costs but also contribute to reducing carbon emissions. "Insulating Europe’s buildings is proven, fast, cheap, and unbelievably effective," said Christian Gruener, Co-Founder and CEO. "The hard part is doing it at scale, building by building. That’s the company we always have been building. Now we’re building the team to match the speed for our next phase."

Use of Funds

The newly acquired funds will be directed towards expanding VARM's insulation services across Germany and eventually into other European markets. The company aims to address the shortage of skilled workers in the insulation sector, a challenge that has hindered larger-scale energy efficiency projects across Europe. By scaling its operations, VARM plans to contribute significantly to the European Union's 2030 climate and energy goals.

Strategic Investor Involvement

The investment by the ABN AMRO Sustainable Impact Fund and other investors underscores the growing interest in sustainable home improvement solutions. These investors bring not only capital but also strategic insights that could help VARM accelerate its market penetration.

The Road Ahead

As VARM gears up to expand its services, it remains committed to its mission of enhancing home energy efficiency. The company's innovative approach to insulation and its focus on scaling operations quickly positions it well to meet the increasing demand for sustainable home solutions in Europe.
