Premier Lacrosse League Raises $100 Million in Series E Funding
Premier Lacrosse League, a professional lacrosse league known for featuring some of the best players globally, has successfully closed a $100 million Series E funding round. This round marks a significant milestone as the largest capital raise in the history of professional lacrosse.
Key Investors and Leadership
The funding round was spearheaded by Ares Management and Joe Tsai, with additional investments from ESPN, actor and producer Glen Powell, and Wrexham A.F.C. co-chairman Rob Mac. Other notable investors include country music artist Warren Zeiders and actor Tony Cavalero. As a result of the financing, Jim Miller, co-head of Ares Sports, Media, and Entertainment, will join the PLLβs board of directors. Glen Powell will also take on the role of a creative advisor.
The league was co-founded by Michael Rabil, who serves as CEO, and Andrew Sinnenberg, the Chief Operating Officer. They have been instrumental in driving the league's growth and expansion.
Strategic Allocation of Funds
The newly acquired funds will be directed towards several strategic priorities aimed at enhancing the league's overall reach and impact. Key areas of focus include:

Media and Commercial Growth
The investment from ESPN builds upon its existing relationship with the PLL and WLL as the leaguesβ media rights partner. This partnership includes live game broadcasts and original content available across ESPN platforms, including ESPN2 and ESPN+.
